Spring Runner’s Clinic

Spring Runner's Clinic May10th 2018

On Tuesday, May 22nd, Appalachian Physical Therapy and Bluestone Bike and Run will be hosting a runners clinic at our Harrisonburg office. The event will consist of a discussion of proper foot mechanics, footwear selection, the latest research on running and injury prevention, shod versus barefoot running, and avoiding common training errors. The format will be less of a presentation and more of an interactive forum to better address participants’ needs. After the discussion portion, attendees will have the opportunity to have their footwear and gait evaluated and will learn how this can easily be done with a treadmill and a smart phone or tablet. Erik Jensen of Blue Stone Bike and Run will be on hand to show case current running shoes and to discuss his role in helping runners choose the appropriate footwear. Adam Van Nortwick of Appalachian Physical Therapy will discuss footwear selection and injury prevention from a physical therapist and runner’s perspective. We hope to provide an educational experience with useful information and look forward to seeing you there. For more information please click here to view our event flier.
